Flash Fiction Challenge #3 Closed

Posted by Absolute XPress on January 25, 2010 with Comments Comments

Closed SignOn January 15, the third Flash Fiction Challenge closed with almost 80 submissions (almost double what we received for challenge #2).

First, I want to thank each and every one of you for submitting to our challenge, and to those of you who helped spread the word on facebook, twitter and your own blogs. It has really meant a lot to us.

Second, everyone who submitted to the challenge should receive a response by January 31st. If that changes, I’ll post a quick note to let you all know. The authors with stories selected for publication will be announced in early February right here on the blog.

Third, I’m happy to announce that our very own Marie Bilodeau (author of the ‘Heirs of a Broken Land’ trilogy) has agreed to be this Challenge’s special guest reviewer. Marie will get an inside look at how the Flash Fiction Challenge works from behind the scenes and will share her thoughts and tips with you in a guest blog post in February.

“Flash Fiction Challenge #3: Thieves and Scoundrels” will be published at the end of February so keep your eyes open for it.

And don’t forget that “Flash Fiction Challenge #4″ opens on March 1 with a new and exciting theme.

Just a quick update folks.

Our lovely Manager, Tina Moreau, has written up a guest post for J. M. Strother’s blog “Mad Uptopia”. He’s the proud creator of the twitter hashtag #FridayFlash.  This post goes through all the details of AXP’s Flash Fiction Challenge, so if you’ve ever had a question about the challenge this would be a good place to look for an answer.

You can check out the post at jmstrother.com

And with only one week left before the deadline for the current challenge (Thieves and Scoundrels) it’ s time to submit those last minute stories.

Also, as a side note, if you’re on twitter be sure to follow us for the latest news on AXP titles and the Flash Fiction Challenge. @AbsoluteXpress
